Weather Makes Such a Difference!

People were most generous towards our church gate collection this weekend in aid of The Friends of Mallow Hospital Special Equipment Fund. Here we see Mary Kelleher and Breeda O'Leary who very kindly helped to coordinate the collection on both days. Here on Saturday night we were blessed but just look (below) at the effect the high winds and rain had on us on this morning! Weather certainly makes a big difference. The Los Zarcos Car Boot Sale was also affected by this morning's challenging weather. Later in the week we shall report on the full amount collected for the praiseworthy cause. Fondest greetings dear listeners and  wish you all the very best on this lovely bright and crisp Tuesday morning.

The Good news first. A million congratulations to all involved in our Tidy Towns effort on being awarded a Bronze Medal at the national results which were announced in Dublin yesterday. We also gained an extra point, bringing us up to a grand 296. Further to that we were overjoyed during the week to hear that Millstreet came first in  category D in the Co.Council Anti litter campaign.

Full marks to all those who worked so hard all through to make sure of a victorious outcome. Many thanks to all those who cleaned outside their own front doors. Thanks to all those who put their rubbish in the bin rather than on the ground. To those who painted their places and removed eyesores .The list goes on. In fact it took all the effort of all the people to make us proud winners of grand  prizes,
