Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to news report 2011 from Millstreet. Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this rather wet but mild Tuesday morning.

All those who were involved with the staging of “Who Wants to be a Thousand-aire”, can justly take a bow. The GAA Hall was packed on Friday night and the excitement was high. It being a first for most, there was widespread interest as to how it all would go. But careful planning and real dedication meant everything was all right on the night. And as well as being a most enjoyable event, it raised in excess of €20,000 for the local GAA fund and at the same time made a donation to our local hospital. Many congratulations to all concerned.

– The monitoring station has been in operation there since 1986.

On average we’d get about 1500mm of rain in Millstreet Town every year, and higher still the closer you get to [read more …] “Record Rainfall over Winter”

2014-03-17 St.Patrick's Day by Tony Broderick-Millstreet native Tony Broderick was back in town on St.Patrick’s Day catching up with old friends and family, where he attended the parade for the first time in many years with camera in hand, and has shared with us some of his super photos.

These days, Tony is a wedding/events photographer living in the South West region of France and “fortunately I had a camera in hand to capture some of the wonderful colour and smiling faces on the day”.

LTV2 Millstreet Programme 235 is now online right here on millstreet.ie or on the LTV2 Facebook Page or you can tune in on your TV this Sunday Evening Mar 23 at 8.00pm

To receive reception one needs to retune analogue settings (available in menu “settings”). When scanning is complete one will now have the new channel – either UHF Channel 30 or UHF Channel 35 (or both in certain areas of Millstreet). All this depends on how strong the signal is in any given area. The UHF Channel 30 signal comes from the Carriganima direction whereas the UHF Channel 35 signal comes from the western side of Millstreet Town. This is now saved and is presently transmitting the EWTN (Religious) Channel.
