Regional Report 1232 – 26th August 2014

Eily Buckley

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1232 from Millstreet.
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this calm and rather wet Tuesday morning.  The last one in August.

A very pleasant function was held at the Plaza in our town Square last week, organised by members of our Tidy Towns group and some of the Residents of Drishane. It was a way of celebrating the great liaison that existed between the two groups during the past number of months as they worked together to keep Millstreet a Tidy Town. At a later date our Tidy Towns members were invited to Drishane for a similar celebration.
A great time was had by all and marks yet another big step in uniting the various nationalities that live in the Millstreet area.

I have a special note from the Tidy Towns, they want to say to say thanks to all those who supported their recent Church Gate Collection.

A million congratulations to the lovely Eileen O Riordan Dromsicane, who won a host of Golds at the recent Tullamore Track ‘n Field Sports. Congrats also to Young Patrick O Callaghan who won an All-Ireland Award for dancing at the Fleadh Ceoil which was held in Sligo.
