Victory Parade at 10.15 Tonight from Colemans Through Town

We thank Marie Twomey for the important update that there will be a Victory Parade through Millstreet Town on this historic Saturday night, 25th Oct. 2014 starting at Colemans in Minor Row.  Millstreet Pipe Band leading the Champions…what a magnificent welcome is assured for the Gallant GAA Ambassadors – The Victorious Millstreet Junior A Football Heroes.  (S.R.)

Millstreet Wins the County Final!

Sincere congratulations to the truly gallant Millstreet Footballers who have just won a hugely exciting County Final.  Lots of expert reports later by the experienced GAA reporters.    And we are just preparing a feature to illustrate the amazing support which has been demonstrated everywhere.   A royal welcome will await the Champions later tonight.   We shall keep you posted on developments.    (S.R.)

The death has occurred of Corneilus (Con) O’CONNOR
Rathroe, Derrinagree, Cork. Beloved brother of Kevin, Nora, Sr. Bridget, Peggy and the late Dan Joe, John and Eilish. Sadly missed by his brother, sisters, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives, good neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace
Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet. Rosary Saturday at 8.00pm. Reposing on Sunday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm followed by removal to Derrinagree Church. Requiem Mass Monday at 12 noon and burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery Millstreet.

Mark in the Running for an All Star Tonight

Local man Mark Ellis kindly took the time to pose for a photo with Mark Kelly Tullamore Co.Offaly.after the Cork versus Laois game in Portlaoise last nite.Mark is a proud Cork supporter and the grandson of Brendan an Margaret Bourke The very best of luck to Mark Ellis this evening at the GAA GPA All Star Awards, where he’s been nominated in the half back line for his superb performances at centre back with the Cork Hurlers this year.

Tonight is the Night for the Superb Marymount Draw in Carriganima

Tonight (Friday, 24th Oct. 2014) is the true culmination of the dedicated fundraising project.  It’s a night a celebrate the great kindness of the many generous people who contributed to the Marymount Ticket Project and a celebration also of the many who gave some truly excellent spot prizes.  Canon John Fitzgerald, P.P., Millstreet will be celebrating a special Mass for all involved on Wednesday, 5th November 2014 at 10.00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet.   Do join us in Carriganima tonight if you get an opportunity.   “The Group of Kind Gentlemen” who have coordinated this amazing project are so thrilled to have not only reached their intended target of some €5,000.00 but have gone well, well beyond.   All will be revealed tonight!  (S.R.)

Presentation N.S. Shows Magnificent Support for Millstreet Junior Football Team in Advance of Saturday’s Historic County Final in Cork

The Millstreet Junior Football Team Management along with players Mark Ellis and Kevin Crowley visited our school on Tuesday as Duhallow Junior A Football Champions for 2014. Great excitement and cheer awaited the team in anticipation for the County Championship final on Saturday (25th) at 6:15pm in Paric Ui Rinn, Cork. Best of luck Millstreet!

The Millstreet & Banteer Groups who accompanied Paddy Buckley and Seán Radley at the Silver Surfer Awards at Google H.Q. in Dublin on Monday 20th Oct. 2014. 2014-08-23 Kathleen O'Sullivan, CullenO’SULLIVAN (Ballydaly, Cullen and formerly of Cahirbarnagh): On October 22, 2014, peacefully, at home, in the care of her family, KATHLEEN, mother of the late Timmy (RIP). Sadly missed by her loving husband Geff, son Donie, daughters Sheila, Aileen and Karen, sons-in-law DD, Barry and Conor, daughter-in-law Louise, grandchildren Katelynn, Dean, Denise, Shane, Laura, Noah, Thomas and Zach, brothers Jimmy and Dan Joe, sister Mamie, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Millstreet Community School Bake Sale in aid of Marie Keating Foundation – Thurs. 23rd Oct.

Marie Keating hi resA Reminder: As it is breast cancer awareness month, the Transition Year ‘youth for justice’ group in Millstreet Community School have decided to hold a Bake Sale in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation on THURSDAY 23RD OCTOBER 2014

Pupils and teachers will be able to buy buns and cakes during break and lunchtime in the school canteen and the staff room.  More home baking will be available between 3pm and 4pm in the school ‘A’ corridor if any members of the local community would like to come in and make a purchase.
