Lourdes Easter 2015 Fundraising – Thank you!
The fundraising efforts to cover the travel and accommodation costs of six 5th year students from Millstreet Community School who’ll be going to Lourdes at Easter 2015 as helpers with IHCPT – The Irish Pilgrimage Trust, has been successfully completed. Thanks to everyone who supported Darren Kiely, Sean Guerin, Amy McSweeney, Lauren Buicke, Máire Ellen O’Connor & Andrea Guerin – whether it be through sponsorship, donations, the two cake sale or the table quiz. A total of €4575 was raised. €3900 of this covered the travel and accommodation costs of our students. The remaining €675 will be split between the three groups that the students will be travelling with to support the groups in their fundraising efforts. The costs of all children or young people who travel with each group, and who are the main focus of the week in Lourdes at Easter, have their fare paid for them through the fundraising efforts of the helpers. Once again, thank you!

Regional Report 1256 – 3rd March 2015
Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a Cairde and welcome to News Report 1256 from Millstreet.
Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the best on this cold and wintry Tuesday morning, with a blanket of beautiful snow on the ground.
The Month of March is upon us and is living up to its name of being as wild as a March Hare. The light blanket of snow our our roads on Monday morning caused lots of minor mishaps, though the highway at Ceim was blocked for a while when a big lorry jack-knifed on the hill, however nothing serious was reported. Extreme caution is advised during this cold snap which is said to be short-lived.
Our annual March Fair was badly hampered by bad weather on Sunday. The crowds and the number of stalls were the smallest ever as well as the number of horses at the sales area in the Fair Field. The cold sleety showers made it clear to many that the out of doors was to be avoided. [read more …] “Regional Report 1256 – 3rd March 2015”

Claire Galvin Stars in Dublin Drama Production 3rd – 5th March 2015
“Sing what’s gone so it won’t be.”
This is not a story about losing someone, but the bit afterwards when they’ve just been lost.
It’s not CSI, but it is a kind of forensics; a putting together of memories to try and make sense of it all. Who was he to you? Who was he to your mother? Who was he to his mother?
It’s about family, it’s about love in the absence of the loved one. It happens to us all, and it doesn’t unhappen; but you can come and share the story so it won’t be forgotten.
