The aim is to travel the entire 105 miles of the River Blackwater from the Source to the Sea. The team of five undertaking the journey includes David O Keeffe, John Murt, Daniel Hickey, Danny Dillane and Denis Rahilly. The six day trip will begin, weather permitting on Monday the 23rd of March and finish at the Quays in Youghal at midday Saturday the 28th. The journey will commence with a six mile walk from the source at Muinganine to Ballydesmond Village and from here the kayaks will be used to paddle to Knocknagree. The canadian canoe will be waiting here loaded with supplies and the necessary camping and cooking equipment for the rest of the excursion. The next five days will be spent journeying the river through Kerry, Cork and Waterford with various stops along the way. It is all being done to raise awareness and funds for The BUMBLEance – Children’s Ambulance Service.

“Sing what’s gone so it won’t be.”
This is not a story about losing someone, but the bit afterwards when they’ve just been lost.
It’s not CSI, but it is a kind of forensics; a putting together of memories to try and make sense of it all. Who was he to you? Who was he to your mother? Who was he to his mother?
It’s about family, it’s about love in the absence of the loved one. It happens to us all, and it doesn’t unhappen; but you can come and share the story so it won’t be forgotten.

Hi, I am returning to Ireland to work in March 2015. I am originally from Millstreet and I am looking to find a property for short term (a couple of weeks) to medium term (a couple of months) to rent. Ideally the property would be in Millstreet town, clean, furnished and with 1-2 bedrooms. Can anyone help? It may be of interest to someone with a vacant property that is for sale and wishes to make an income form it in the meantime.
Thank you

The Fair Trade Fest will take place in Millstreet Parish Centre on Saturday 28th February 2015 after 6.30pm Mass. The event, which takes place during Fairtrade Fortnight, will raise awareness about the opportunities to purchase products marked with the Fairtrade stamp locally and how doing so supports the work of producers in developing countries. There will be a raffle for this hamper containing Fairtrade goods, some of which have been donated by local retailers.
Those who do not have a family member attending the school can buy a line on Saturday night in the Parish Centre to be in with a chance of winning the hamper. A line costs €1. The draw will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday night. All are welcome to attend.
