Help needed with organising a week-long musical tour

I am hoping for some help with organising a week-long musical tour in County Cork and perhaps further afield for an amazing Italian country blues band called Dago Red in the Summer of 2022, if the coronavirus situation allows.

They are winners of the European Blues Challenge, they have shared a stage with the likes of Ian Siegal, Sherman Robertson, Jorma Kaukonen – Hot Tuna Fan Club, Mick Abrahams (Jethro Tull), Doug MacLeod and Peter Hammill, and more importantly they are some of the kindest people I have ever met.

The first link below is the Dago Red Facebook page, and the second link has a back story about how I met the band and had the honour of singing with them in Italy.

https://www.irishcentral.com/…/believe-in-yourself

Any help or advice from music lovers, musicians music agents, music venues, theatres, pubs and parish halls etc. would be more than welcome, with many thanks to Seán Radley for agreeing to promote this via his Cork Music Station shows.

PS I have been living near Ballydaly since August 2020 and prior to that I have been a frequent visitor since I was knee high to a short grasshopper.

Eily’s Report – 4th January

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a chairde and welcome to my first Report of 2022.

I’ll start the year anyway, don’t know if I’ll finish it but will go as far as I can.  As far as the Good Lord allows and judging by the wonderful feedback that I got over the Christmas I am encouraged to continue. Many thanks to all those who took the trouble to contact me.

Greetings everybody and I wish you all a very happy New Year. When I began writing these weekly Reports, in earnest at the start of the Covid pandemic the world was a very frightening place. The future looked bleak with every country in the world reporting widespread cases and no hope of curbing it’s travels. But now more than a year later things have changed. Thanks to modern medicines vaccines soon came on the market which makes the future look a lot brighter. Being a pandemic of global dimensions meant that all countries despite former disagreements had to club together to find a solution, so many lessons were learned at top level. Today though still a serious threat, Covid19 is not regarded as being the sure killer that it was, and for that we are truly grateful to God and to science. My own family didn’t escape but those who were affected some months ago have fully recovered and those going through it at the moment have our prayers that they will likewise come through Covid 19 unaffected.

“Where the Road Takes Me” at 7pm this Sunday on C103

We thank Presenter, John Greene for advance information on last Sunday evening’s programme (details below) –26th Dec. 2021 at 7pm on C103.  A new programme is presently being broadcast on this Sunday, 2nd Jan. 2022 from 7 to 8pm. (S.R.)

The Anglo-Irish Treaty was signed in London, on December 6th 1921.

Back in Ireland and in between debates on the Treaty, Michael Collins took some downtime and headed home to Woodfield for Christmas.  It would be his last Christmas.  Eight months later he was assassinated in Béal na Bláth on August 22nd.

On Christmas day evening, Michael Collins and his brother Johnny walked to the top of Carraigaradhairc, close to what was now the burned out remains of the family home at Woodfield.

Based on research and interviews recorded with Johnny Collins, Tim Crowley of the Michael Collins’ Centre has written a thirty minute radio play based on what the brothers discussed.

The play – ‘Michael Collins’s Last Christmas’, was heard on “Where the road takes me” on St. Stephen’s Day evening, almost exactly one hundred years to the day later.

“Radio Treasures” Welcomes Genevieve and Conan This Tuesday on Cork Music Station

“Radio Treasures” Weekly Show is on air tonight (Tues. 28th Dec. 2021) on Cork Music Station from 9.30 to 11.30 (Irish Time).   Feel most welcome to contact the Show on corkmusicstation@ gmail.com or on Text/WhatsApp 086 825 0074 or check out the Seán Radley Facebook

Our 10pm Interview features a royal welcome for Genevieve and Conan O’Sullivan from Washington DC to Millstreet.  Yesterday (Mon. 27th Dec. 2021) it was such a wonderful occasion to meet with the Happy Couple and to share the Millstreet Experience with them.  By sheer chance some 15 years ago I first met Genevieve and Conan in Dublin.  One year later I was invited to their Wedding in Gougane Barra and afterwards in Victoria House Hotel, Muckross Road, Killarney.  Next October they plan to return to Ireland with Family and Friends to celebrate their 15th Wedding Anniversary.  Their official Photographer was Ian Cronin of Killarney. If you get a chance to tune in to our Show tonight you will get to hear two such supreme Ambassadors for the USA in our 10pm Interview.   Below we share images from yesterday’s Tour of Millstreet during which the Happy Couple (who participated in the annual swim in Castletownbere on Chrismas Day!) were thrilled to meet with many superbly welcoming Local People.

Tonight also we shall hear the Carrickerry Wrenboys (thanks to Patrick Lyons), Carols of the Bells and we are really going to Party with the very best of songs and music including an unique version of “I’m the Music Man” with full orchestra!  Enjoy!   A special welcome to all those who now tune into our Radio Station on the “Radio Garden” Free App!
