  4. Hello , I am trying to verify my relation to Millstreet. From my Great-grandfather James J. Riordan’s marriage certificate, the names Timothy Riordan and Julia Sullivan are listed as parents. The only marriage of the ” churchrecords.irishgenealogy. ie” of a Timothy Riordan and a Julia Sullivan is listed for Millstreet.

My Grandfather emigrated to Charlestown Ma and married an Elizabeth Murphy from Barraduff.

James was in the liquor business and is said to have come over with two brothers Timothy and John. Timothy was said to have settled in Rhode Island and John in Winchester Ma.

    1. Hi, I don’t know if we are related but I have Sullivans and Riordans from Millstreet in my family tree (or, at least I’m trying to verify that). They came to Connecticut in the 1880s.

    2. Hi James, Yes I think you have the correct family. Timothy’s descendants still live in Rhode Island, he was in the liquor business too. You have relatives here in Ireland still too, though I am not one of them. You can contact me at <email> and I will give you the details

  5. Hello, I’m trying to confirm the identity of my 2x great-grandfather Eugene Sullivan. I believe he was born in 1859 in Anagloor, Millstreet, Cork. He married Cathrine Shine. I believe she was born Feb. 1862 in Leishhane(?), Millstreet, Cork. They immigrated to America in the early 1880’s and had there first child there in 1884 (Johanna). I don’t know if they were married in the U.S. or Ireland. Is there anyone who knows anything about the Sullivan or Shine families in these areas? I believe Eugene’s parents would have been Stephen Sullivan and Honora Hennesy. I believe Catherine’s parents were John Shine and Margaret Riordan. Thank you for any help that is possible.

  6. Thank you so much Michael! That is fantastic help! They may have married in the U.S. I have not found any passenger lists that record their names together, so that might indicate a marriage in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Thank you again for your help.

  7. Could someone contact me at my email account <email> so I may send our information on the Daly Surname Studies upcoming activities in North Cork in the end of May 2017?

    Kind regards,
    Michael Daley

  8. I am looking for John Stewart b 1745 in Ireland and his son also John b 1760 and they immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1762
I do know that the Stewart/Stuart’s and McLean’s along with MacDonald’s went from Scotland to Ireland during some kind of uprising.
They all came back to Nova Scotia and I can’t find where in Ireland they were from.
I do know there is a castle named for Stuart but which ones?

  9. Hi,
I’m here in Millstreet from Asian South African looking for the volunteer work just to keep myself busy and build good relationships with the community.
