On last Wednesday night in Pairc Ui Rinn Millstreet GAA Club presented a cheque of €1,000.00 to the “Friends of Kieran Fund” which had been raised at the Poc Fada held on March 18th in aid of Kieran O’Connor, Cork County football player, who is ill and undergoing treatment at the moment. The fundraising event which was organised by the club and in particular, Michael Murphy, was very well supported and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated, made donations and assisted with stewarding on the day. The presentation was made before the Charity Benefit game between Cork and Kilkenny in Pairc Ui Rinn.
Millstreet added to their sequence of wins to collect the Co. Senior Scór Table Quiz Final hosted in the Eire Óg GAA Pavilion, Ovens. On doing so, Millstreet collected their 24th title since 1994. Team members on this occasion were Con and Mary Meade, Jerry Doody, and John Tarrant.

Sincere congratulations to Aubane’s St. John’s G.A.A. Club’s truly magnificent win in the Junior B Football Championship on Saturday night in Millstreet Town Park. The very popular Club has members from not just Aubane and Mushera but well beyond. At the Club’s Annual Church gate Collection over the weekend not just one but two superb Cups were proudly displayed. Trainer Jimmy Murphy had a very busy schedule on Saturday night as he made it in time following the successful outcome in the important match to be present at “The Pub” in Carriganima to present substantial cheques to both Millstreet and Macroom Hospitals (fuller pictorial report on that event later) as a result of the Annual Fun Run in Carriganima. Since this event began a most impressive €13,000.00 has been presented to assist fundraising in the hospitals. Here we share some 11 images from the uplifting weekend. Millstreet GAA Club will host its 5th Annual Golf Classic on Friday next 14th September in Mahoney Point, Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. This event has proved to be a very successful and enjoyable day and the funds raised are used for the development of our players. The organising committee of Anthony Dennehy, Declan Crowley, Donagh Hickey, Cian O’Mahony & Noel Crowley have ensured the success of the event and it gives former members and players of our Club an opportunity of meeting in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
The Golf Classic could not be held without the support of our generous sponsors and Millstreet Club wishes to acknowledge the 6 main sponsors of the day – Cloverhill Foods, Colemans Millstreet, Tarrant’s Bar, Eamonn McCaul Mechanical Services, Claramore Construction and Donagh Hickey Motors. We also wish to thank the business of Millstreet and surrounding areas who sponsor tee boxes and greens, the support of each of these businesses is appreciated by the club as we are fully aware of the financial demands that are made on businesses on a daily basis. To all the teams that are playing we look forward to meeting you on the Friday and we wish you the best of luck and thank you for your continued support.
