I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sent me good wishes on my recent Camogie Volunteer of the year award. Thank you to my family, relatives (at home and abroad especially in New York), club members, neighbours, work colleagues and friends. To Millstreet Camogie Committee, who nominated me for the award. To the Cork Camogie Association who selected me for the award. To all of you who sent me congratulations cards, text messages, beautiful floral bouquets and tweets. To photographers, Geraldine, Seanie, John Tarrant and Clara O’ Keeffe who recorded the wonderful memories for posterity. Finally I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to the “Magnificent Seven” who travelled with me to Croke Park to celebrate the National Awards. Chloé was playing at #10, but on the day Cork where  outclassed by Clare and lost on a scoreline of 1-9 to 1-4.

Alanna & Kate in All-Ireland Camogie Finals this weekend

Millstreet Camogie Club would like to wish Alanna Barry & Kate O Keeffe the very best of luck in this weekends All Ireland Finals with Cork.

  • Kate will be looking to put in a repeat performance against Limerick in the All Ireland Minor A Final Replay on Saturday in Charleville at 2.30pm. Road Bowling: Tom Browne won the Gerald Healy Cup final at Kilcorney where he beat Kevin Ruby in the last shot (1st Dec). They were locked together in the early stages.
