The boxers are made up of big-hearted women and men who have volunteered to take part in the high adrenalin sport of boxing in a safe, comfortable environment. For the past 8-weeks they have been learning the basics of boxing while getting super fit and are now ready to step into the ring for the ultimate challenge (Sharon is pictured on the right above, training for the fight, under the watchful eye of Dan Lane of Rylane Boxing Club)

It’s taking place on Saturday, 5 March 2016 at 7pm in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork, and you can get your tickets for the night here, before they’re all sold out.

Royal Welcome for Chloe, Megan and Linda – Boxing Heroes

Chloe Barrett, Linda Desmond and Megan Lehane all participated in the highly prestigious Amateur Boxing All-Ireland Championships in Dublin.  A superb victory parade was held on Sunday evening followed by a celebratory social evening at Tarrant's Bridge Bar where Rylane Boxing Coach Dan Lane addressed the large gathering. Victory Parade at 6.30pm Today for Chloe and Megan Who Won Prestigious All-Ireland Gold Medals in Dublin Yesterday at the Amateur Boxing Championships

Beginning at Colemans in Minor Row and proceeding to Tarrant’s Bridge Bar, Millstreet the  Victory Parade at 6.30pm today (Sunday, 18th May 2014) for Chloe Barrett and Megan Lehane who won Prestigious All-Ireland Gold Medals in Dublin yesterday at the Amateur Boxing Championships, will include members of Millstreet Pipe Band and lots of enthusiastic Supporters.   Everyone is welcome to celebrate such an historic win for two great sports people from Aubane.  Following some uplifting words a celebratory social evening will follow at Tarrant’s Bridge Bar. Sincere Congratulations to Chloe and Megan.   (S.R.)

Well done to Kate O’Keeffe and the Cork Minor A Camogie team who won the Munster title beating Tipperary on a score of Cork 7-12 Tipperary 6-11. Kate scored an important goal when Cork were under pressure in the first half, in a match where Cork were behind for most of the match, but scored 1-5 without reply at the end of the match. Irish Olympic Boxing Heroes to Fight in Millstreet

London 2012 Olympic Games - Boxing Sunday 12th AugustIn association with the IABA, PLATINUM ONE is bringing Ireland’s Olympic Medal winning team to Millstreet in Cork on Friday May 3rd in the first-leg of a two-match International against the Elite boxers of France. All of Ireland’s medal winners will compete and the bill will be topped by Gold Medal hero Katie Taylor who will fight in Millstreet for the first time in her career.

Rallying: Charlie Drake was competing in the round 1 of the Australian Rally Championship – Rally Calder. On the first day (Friday) he was ‎1.8 seconds off 3rd, and 17 seconds off the overall lead heading into last stage of the day, where he broke gear linkage in 5th, had some flames from the car, and had to retire 🙁 [see videos of Charlie driving at the 2012 ECB Rally Calder at the bottom of this post]

Very Successful Boxing Event at Green Glens Last Saturday Night
