Back 1998 the Euro Lamberetta Jamboree was held in the Green Glens, Millstreet from the 19th to the 21st of June, when hundreds of Lambretta owners from all over Europe descended on Millstreet for three days.

Cesare Battaglini was an Italian who was the most famous of all long distance Lambretta riders, riding all over the world on his bikes, and he was in Millstreet for the festival. His recent death reminded us of this event: “Most times he continued riding to each event, either on a model D or a series 2. Here are a few photos from the Jamboree: continue reading…

One of the most cheerful images we captured at Green Glens last evening at the hugely successful Spring Farm Machinery Show 2012. The identical twins with their favourite John Deere outfits were so wonderfully excited on seeing the amazing farm machinery on show. Here we were visiting the very impressive stand of inventor extraordinaire, William J. Leahy of Finnanefield, Kilcorney. We shall feature lots more pictures before the end of the day. A visit to this mighty Show is truly worthwhile and it continues from 12 noon until 10.00 p.m. this day, Thursday, 19th Jan. 2012. (S.R.)

Pictured with two members of the NYPD are Fr. Paddy O'Byrne with Jimmy, Colm and James O'Leary.
