Millstreet Community School Second Year Students help Millstreet Tidy Towns Association on Tuesday, 22/05/2012 by participating in an afternoon clean-up project within the town and suburbs. (S.R.)

A fiddle concert will take place in Drishane Church on Friday 1st. June 2012 at 8.30pm. Muireann Murphy, Alanna Barry, Orla Kiely, Eimear Twomey, Sarah Dennehy, Kelly Murphy, Maura Buckley, Emma Hickey, Darren Kiely, Bridelle Cronin, Daniel O Callaghan and Conor Daly are a group of local students who call themselves “STRINGS” and will treat you to some delightful fiddle music on the night.
The young people who are students at Millstreet Community School convened as a fiddle group last September under the direction of Emer Twomey. Pictured tonight (18th May) at the very enjoyable Millstreet Gramophone Circle presentation by Margaret McCarron, Bandon and Cullen (third from left in the turquoise/green style).    The many people attending were treated to a magnificent selection of exquisite music which was relaxing, tuneful and very pleasantly atmospheric.    The DJ supreme was, as usual,  Donal Cowman.  The occasion took place in the Canon O’Donovan Centre, Clara Road, Millstreet.   (S.R.)

Just one of the many beautiful features in place at St. Patrick's Church, Millstreet for tomorrow's First Holy Communion Ceremony at 11.00 a.m. (19/05/2012). An information meeting on the Stability Treaty will be held on

Tuesday 15th May at 8.30pm in the Wallis Arms Hotel, Millstreet.

Áine Collins TD will chair the meeting and there will be speakers from different sectors of the community.

There will be a public meeting in Millstreet GAA Hall next Monday night 14th May at 8pm, where a talk will be given on the upcoming referendum of the EU Fiscal Treaty, household charges, septic tank charges, and water charges. All are welcome.

The Millstreet group campaigning against household charges and austerity meet Monday nights at 8.30pm in the Bush Bar. Anyone that wishes to join the campaign is welcome. Contact (087)3560013.

At the end of the hugely successful Blacksmiths' and Craftmen's Fair in Millstreet Country Park, Tony , Jerry and Teresa Sheehan reflect on what enormous crowds of people arrived at the exquisite setting - especially on Sunday, 6th May. We shall feature lots more pictures in future days. (S.R.)

A treat for all Daniel O’Donnell fans: in New Years eve at the end of 1994, Daniel O’Donnell played a concert from Millstreet which was RTÉ’s New Years Eve programme at the time and shown live on TV. RTÉ is fifty years old this year, and are showing some programmes from the past, and included in these is the concert from Millstreet.

Daniel is accompanied by the RTÉ concert orchestra, conductor Noel Kelehan, and the Daniel O’Donnell band.  He is joined on stage by Mary Duff, Mary from Dungloe as well as others.

Millstreet Vintage Club are holding a car & tractor run on next Sunday next April 29th starting @ 12.30 from the Wallis Arms Hotel.

The club draw will take place after the runs finish that evening in the Wallis Arms Hotel.

At race sign-in you will collect your race tee-shirt, race number and timing chip.
