The death has occurred unexpectedly on Thursday, February 02, 2012 of Patrick (Patsie) MURPHY of Ballydaly, Millstreet. Reposing at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet this Friday evening, followed by removal at 8pm to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Ballydaly. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Saturday, at 12 noon. Burial immediately afterwards in Cullen Cemetery.
The death has occurred on Monday, January 30th 2012 of Annie Murphy of Meenachoney, Donoughmore, Cork. Peacefully in the wonderfull care of the matron and staff of Millstreet Hospital. Anne was a half-twin of the late Mary O’Sullivan, Aubane, and aunt of Vincent (Robert) O’Sullivan, Millstreet. Removal this Tuesday evening at 8pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Wednesday, at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
The death has occurred of Julia Mary Murray, (née Mullane) of Glasheen, Cork. Murray (Cork and formerly of Millstreet) On January 29th 2012 peacefully at Care Choice Montenotte, Julia Mary (Nee Mullane) beloved wife of the late Michael (recently deceased) Croaghta Park, loving mother of Donal, Anne, Pat, Rita (O’Sullivan) and Martina (Barrett). Deeply regretted by her loving family, sons-in-law Brendan and Pat, daughters-in-law Rosaleen and Mary, grandchildren, great granddaughters, sister Christina, sisters-in-law, Joan and Chrissie, brother-in-law Jim, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at Sullivans Funeral Home, Turners Cross. Removal on Monday (30th) evening at 7pm to Church of the Immaculate Conception The Lough. Funeral on Tuesday (31st) after 12 noon Requiem Mass to St. Oliver’s Cemetery.

Fr. Séamus O’Connell was the Chaplain at Millstreet Community School from 1986 to 1989 who lots of us would remember well. These days he’s Rev O’Connell, and while still part of the Kerry Diocese, he is the Professor of Sacred Scripture at St. Patricks College, Maynooth, where is is a lecturer and a key researcher into the gospels of St. Mark, for which he has lots of published papers to his name.
On Friday February 3rd, he will explore the Gospel of Mark as the Gospel of God (Mark 1:14): Re-discovering Mark’s Gospel as a Story of Hope starting at 7.30pm. He will continue to open the Gospel to us and enable us to pray with the Word of God on Saturday: 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in John Paul II Pastoral Centre, Rock Road, Killarney. The death has occurred on Monday, January 16, 2012 of Rev. Tom PIERSE of Ballinorig House, Tralee, Kerry Retired Curate of Cullen and Parish Priest of Eyeries and Ballyheigue. Peacefully. Adored brother of Den Joe (deceased), Sheila Breen (deceased), and Joan Nolan of Knocknagree, and Peig Osborne, in Wales.
Beloved husband of Teresa (nee O’Sullivan), Bocarna, Glengarriff, Co., Cork. Loving father of Michael (deceased), Kevin, Brian, Terence and John. Adored papa of Michael, also survived by many nieces and nephews.
On December 29, 2011, Mass of the Resurrection was offered at Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery where the interment took place following the service.
