The Gathering will be the biggest tourism initiative in Ireland in 2013. It will be a year long programme centred on festivals and events, highlighting the best Ireland has to offer. The main aim is to increase number of visitors to Ireland to by 300,000 in 2013. It will be a real opportunity for the public to contribute to Ireland’s renewal and economic growth.

Local communities are encouraged to support The Gathering in their own areas and offer up suggestions as to what type of events & activities can be organised.
These will be devised and organised by international, national, and locally based individuals, organisations and community groups.

Please place any suggestions for Events/Activities in box provided. Suggestion Boxes are around Town in following locations: Community School, Post Office, Library, McCauls, Wallis Arms Hotel, Mulcahy’s Pharmacy, Charity Shop & Colemans Centra.

The Japanese-owned firm employs just under 500 people in the Millstreet-based plant, and managing director Brendan O’Shaughnessy said yesterday that the earthquake has affected the company’s bottom line this year.
