DISABILITY FINANCIAL TALK
Information Seminar on this Issue will take place on Tuesday February 26th at 7.30p.m.
IRD Duhallow is seeking to hold a special needs financial talk as it is clear that with the impact of the economy affecting all parents who have children with special needs we are sure you will get great information, tips and strategies to improve your family’s personal financial situation. The financial talk will cover how budget 2013 will affect your family, tighter rules for entitlements and benefits, how to apply and appeal a decision, how to write a will to protect your child’s future, how to choose the right guardians and trustees, changes to your child’s inheritance and savings and strategies to create a brighter financial future for your child. It is important that all families regardless of their personal circumstances can benefit from expert advice in this area.
Registration is essential for this seminar so please contact Mary McHugh on 029 60633 for more information.
We thank Mary McHugh for this important update. (S.R.)
Millstreet Juvenile GAA A.G.M. was held on January 29th but due to the poor attendance and support of parents, the meeting had to be deferred until Wednesday February 6th at 8pm in Millstreet GAA Hall.
Please be advised that both the secretary and chairperson are stepping down from their duties within the club. Nobody was willing to take over these roles at the meeting last week. If this happens again Wednesday night, your child may not have a club to play football and hurling with. We also need parents to help out at both football and hurling trainings.
We plead with all parents and locals in the community to attend this A.G.M. The future of Millstreet Juvenile GAA depends on your support!
A very useful and important First Aid Course will be given over two Wednesdays in February 2013 – 13th and 20th at The Pub in Carriganima – three hours each night. Just a few places still left. Full details from Seán Murphy. (S.R.)

Encouraging and growing new businesses has always been important to the economy and never more so than now. Equally, keeping existing businesses in business (that have needed to downsize during the economic downturn) is fundamental to towns and villages throughout Cork County. With this in mind, Millstreet Development Association have made a partnership with Cork County Council and IRD Duhallow to provide a new enterprise facility in Millstreet town.
This Centre comes about as part of Cork County Council’s ‘E Centres Initiative’ which is part of the Economic Development Fund. The ambition is to work with local communities in towns and villages all over CorkCounty to provide such facilities for local people to start and grow their business.
The Centre will be opened by the County Mayor, Cllr. Barbara Murray on Wednesday 23rd January at 3.30pm and all are welcome to come and view the facilities and join in the positive atmosphere of opening the new E Centre.
