We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. We can do no great things, only small things with great love.’ ~Mother Teresa
It was my privilege to be part of a community celebration on Saturday night in Green Glens, Millstreet. The celebration marked many years of contribution by Sean Radley to his local community and beyond. He is a man who has done endless small things with great love and will continue to do so for many more years. Sean’s contribution to his local community is beyond measure. No money could buy his contribution to education, local television, local radio and his unique ability to make every person feel special. We so often take many people for granted in our lives but on Saturday night over 600 people gathered to say thanks and well done. Such was the enthusiasm continue reading…

The death has taken place in Dublin of Joe Lynam. Joe was 73 and worked for RTÉ as a showjumping reporter in the early 1980s.

He frequently covered events in Millstreet (especially in the 1980s)  and the RDS for Saturday Sport on RTÉ Radio One with Jimmy Magee.

He knew many figures in the showjumping community and was very close to RTÉ’s Darragh and Eddie Mackin.

We thank Jerry Kelleher for sharing the RTÉ link with us : http://www.rte.ie/sport/equestrian/2010/1222/lynamj.html

Undoubtedly, you will recognise the wonderful Concertino who brought such superb colour, joy, humour and happiness to Millstreet during the very memorable European Juggling Convention 2006 (EJC2006) during that Summer of magnificent weather. Now, European television has made a truly excellent half-hour documentary on this most inspiring gentleman whose attitude to life he expressed on the card he is holding in his hand at Green Glens in 2006 – “Follow your heart and live your dreams!” .    You can now, for the next 25 days (only), view this most uplifting documentary and hear again that wonderfully happy laugh on http://arenan.yle.fi/video/1417950 – Happy viewing!   (Seán)
