My Wifes Family by Banteer Drama Group takes to the Stage

Banteer Drama Group take to the stage this weekend at the Glen Theatre, they have a comedy entitled My Wife’s Family by Fred Duprez.The Play which is based around the lives of a Family in a Summer House at Peacehaven near Banteer promises to be a very funny and well put together Production. It’s on next Saturday and Sunday Feb 11/12^th and the following weekend on Feb 18/19^th. Also on Feb 26^th. Don’t miss it.

Death Notice: Gobnait Smith, Rathcoole

The death has occurred of on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 Gobnait Smith, (née Toomey) of Dublin and late of Rathcoole, Mallow, Co. Cork and Graigue, Castletown, Co. Limerick. Peacefully, at home. Beloved wife of the late Michael and loving mother of Edward and Davina and adored granny G of Zoe; sadly missed by her loving family, sisters, nieces, nephews and her extended family and friends.

Removal from Bourke’s Funeral Home, 71 Queen Street, Dublin 7 on Friday evening to the church of The Holy Family, Aughrim Street, arriving at 5.30pm. Funeral on Saturday morning, after 10am Mass, to Glasnevin Crematorium. Interment of her Ashes will take place next week in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet, Co. Cork. New Season of Local Television Begins in November

LTV1 is back on air from Wednesday, 9th Nov. and LTV2 Millstreet from Thursday, 10th Nov.. Pictured here in The Pub, Carriganima at a recent LTV Meeting are members of the team - from left: Seán, Mary, Brendan, Eily, William, Dan Joe and Michael. Test transmissions will take place before the broadcast season begins. The channel will be available on UHF Channel 48 and 50. Also on VHF Channel 12. Some of the programmes will also be uploaded on the Millstreet website. The LTV2 Supporters Club will help to fund the voluntary, community-based local television service. (S.R.)

Superb Participation in Rally Which Began from Drishane This Morning

Rally in aid of the Jerry O'Leary Memorial Fundraising Project for Cork University Hospital's Oncology Dept. leaves Drishane this morning. Despite inclement weather there was a very large amount of enthusiastic participants with their various modes of transport. The many events over the past two days raised a truly substantial amount of money for the project. The exact amount will be revealed later. (S.R.)
