in Cork on 15th April 2012.   Renowned Organiser, Paddy O’Brien was very impressed with Loretta’s rendition of this wonderful song and recalled how with his Aubane roots, fondly remembered attending Cullen Feis as a young person.    Paddy began the Over-60s Competition in 1977 and some years ago was chosen as the Cork Person of the Year for having developed this hugely popular annual event to the very impressive level which it has now successfully reached.    Having won the North Cork Section of this year’s Competition Loretta is guaranteed the full support of Millstreet Parish as she participates in the Semi-Final in Cork on 15th April.    She was given a splendidly warm reception when she brought the winning cup to the Canon O’Donovan Centre this week.    Sincere Congratulations, Loretta and every success in the Semi-Final.  (S.R.)

On December 29, 2011, Mass of the Resurrection was offered at Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery where the interment took place following the service.

Sitting by the traditional fireside Mary O'Sullivan looks forward to the official launch of her much anticipated Book this Friday, 2nd December 2011 at 8.00 p.m. in Cullen Community Centre. Cork group who travelled to the beautiful Salthill Hotel, Galway for the Monday night (7th Nov. 2011) Michael Commins Concert which featured true Showband legends such as Big Tom McBride, John Glenn, Foster & Allen, Donncha Ó Dúlaing and many more including our good friends "Crystal Swing". William Fitzgerald and I recorded for LTV2 Millstreet and we arrived back in Millstreet close to dawn! We shall have a full feature on the mightly event later. (S.R.)

Midwest Radio Presenter Supreme, Michael Commins (and Journalist par excellence in the “Farmers Journal”) has been presenting the Annual Michael Commins Country & Western Shows in Galway with phenomenal success.   And there is a wonderful opportunity to attend the Monday Show for fans of that ever popular musical genre.

Darren Kealy demonstrates his new state-of-the-art wheelchair accessible coach at his Cullen Headquarters this Wednesday morning (5th Oct. 2011). This is the only such coach in Duhallow. Also included is William Fitzgerald.

This superb new facility is hugely welcome.   Darren’s new wheelchair accessible coach is the only one in Duhallow and indeed very few such specialist coaches exist in Ireland generally outside the large cities.    Not only will this uplifting development be of immense benefit to wheelchair users but it will also be of excellent assistance to more senior passengers who may experience difficulty in getting in and out of buses.   We wish Darren and his Staff every success with this magnificent new developement in travelling comfort and safety.  (S.R.)
