LTV2 Millstreet:Programme 221 (Number 1 of 2013/2014 Season) Now Online

Programme 221 which will be broadcast Tonight Thursday 14 November at 10.00 is now online. You can now watch our First Programme of the New Season right here at millstreet.ie or on the LTV2 Facebook Page and this Programme will be repeated next Sunday Evening November 17 at 8.00pm

To receive reception on your Television one needs to retune analogue settings (available in menu “settings”).   When scanning is complete one will now have the new channel – either UHF Channel 30 or UHF Channel 35 (or both in certain areas of Millstreet).   All this depends on how strong the signal is in any given area.   The UHF Channel 30 signal comes from the Carriganima direction whereas the UHF Channel 35 signal comes from the western side of Millstreet Town.  This is now saved and is presently transmitting the EWTN (Religious) Channel. Impressive Movember Project in Carriganima in aid of Cancer Research

Some brave men from Carriganima are growing facial hair for Movember, under the code name of  “The Hairy Pub”! Included in this praiseworthy project are Seanie Murphy, Matt Neville,  Kenneth Forde, Anthony O’Leary, Stephen Roche, Shane Moriarty, John Joe Moriarty,  Donal Corcaran, Tadhg Kelleher, Danny Creedon, Pat Barrett, Tadhg  Scannell, Matthew Twomey (Jnr.), Connie O’ Shea and Jimmy Murphy.  All have sponsorship cards and every support is very welcome for the very good cause of  Cancer Research. We shall be monitoring their growth over the next few weeks.  We wish them well and their Spouses!!   We thank Jimmy Murphy for this important update on the impressive fundraising Project.   We shall be uploading relevant pictures of the progress this coming weekend.  (S.R.)

“Fuel The Pub” Traditional Night at “The Pub”, Carriganima on Friday

“Fuel The Pub” Traditional Night at “The Pub”, Carriganima on Friday, 15th Nov. 2013.  Bring a bag of turf or timber and get a drink!   Or bring a musical instrument or sing a song.  Storytellers also welcome.   Cork Music Station will broadcast the superb event  live beginning at 9.30 pm until late.  LTV2 will also record aspects of the great occasion.   All are very welcome.   We thank Seán Murphy for this interesting update.  (S.R.)

With Liam Cantillon providing superb music at The Pub in Carriganima on Sunday night the annual Halloween Fancy Dress Event attracted many excellent entries. Royal Celebration at “The Castle” near Carriganima on Sunday

Dan Joe Kelleher records for LTV Fr. Pat Scanlan, P.P., Castletownroche interviewing the young generation at a truly historic evening in "The Castle" near Carriganima.   Dan Joe  produced a wonderful programme in the very same location on 17th December 1983.   Now, thirty years later, Dan Joe will be broadcasting this Sunday's very interesting programme on Wednesday, 18th December 2013 on LTV. The presentation of the cheques following the recent Carriganima Run/Jog/Walk took place on Saturday night at The Pub in Carriganima.  Jimmy Murphy, Coordinator superme (seated in the centre) presented a €1,000.00 cheque to Millstreet Hospital - accepted by Matron Lena Kelleher and a €1,000.00 cheque to Macroom Hospital - accepted by Matron Rosemary O'Connell. Presentation of Cheques to Millstreet & Macroom Hospitals in Carriganima

Jimmy Murphy alerts us to the fact that the official presentation of cheques to Millstreet and Macroom Hospitals takes place on Saturday, 5th October at 9.30 p.m. in The Pub, Carriganima.     This uplifting occasion is the result of the recent hugely successful Carriganima Run/Jog/Walk fundraising event superbly coordinated by Jimmy and his wonderfully dedicated Team.   Everyone is welcome to attend the presentations at The Pub and Jimmy extends his heartfelt thanks to all who helped to make the event on Saturday, 21st September 2013 such an outstanding success.    (S.R.)

The Committee of Carriganima 4 mile run/jog/walk in aid of Millstreet and Macroom Hospitals would like to thank all participants and everybody who helped in making it a successful and memorable event.

All Proceeds in aid of Macroom and Millstreet Hospitals.

Celebrating Peter & Bernie Lane’s Silver Wedding Anniversary at “The Pub” in Carriganima on Friday, 19th July 2013

On Friday, 19th July 2013 in The Pub at Carriganima a truly marvellous night of celebration took place marking the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Bernie & Peter Lane of Cahirdowney, Millstreet.   In the company of their daughter, Regina and son, Conor and a host of relatives and friends, live contact through skype was made with daughter Gretta in Australia.   This was a first for The Pub to provide such amazing worldwide access to the joy of the capacity gathering who sent lots of messages to Gretta in Australia.   An excellent video superbly capturing the past 25 years was also shared on the night.  (S.R.)
