Women’s Dressmaking Group

The Employment and Training Working Group is proposing to develop a Women’s Dressmaking Group with the aim that participants will enjoy the sense of achievement in creating a tailored garment for their own personal body shape. Introductory demonstrations will be given. Step by Step guidance will be provided on the pattern, fabric, cutting, sewing, fitting and finishing and each participant will create an A-line skirt from commencement to finish. Names are now being sought from the public to determine interest in such a training course. If you are interested or would like more information please contact Mary McHugh at 029 60633.

Victory Parade for Áine Collins, T.D. at 7 p.m.

Áine is deemed Elected at the Macroom Count Centre

Beginning at Michael O’Sullivan’s in Drishane Road,  Millstreet this evening at 7.00 a Victory Parade honouring the newly elected Fine Gael T.D. , Deputy Áine Collins will take place.   Speakers will make an address at the Monument in the Square and the Parade will also travel to West End.   All are very welcome.   We extend heartfelt congratulations to Áine, to Michael Creed and to Michael Moynihan on being elected to the new Dáil.

Meelin's "Alternative" Team and "Physio" during the superb "Up for the Match" presentation in Meelin Community Hall on Friday, 11th Feb. 2011 in advance of their magnificent and truly historic win in today's All-Ireland in Croke Park. The real team were not present at this great night as they were preparing for the All-Ireland but undoubtedly they will be the true stars in Meelin during what is likely to be quite a celebration. “Feis & Blood” on TG4 to Feature Talented Linehan Family, Millstreet

On TG4 tomorrow night (Sunday, 13th Feb. 2011) beginning at 7.15 p.m.  the excellent series “Feis & Blood” will feature the wonderfully talented musical Linehan Family of Dooneen, Millstreet.    And on LTV2 in the near future we shall be transmitting highlights of “Up for the Match in Meelin” which we recorded at Meelin Community Centre last night in advance of their All-Ireland appearance in Croke Park on tomorrow, Sunday with the historic game beginning at 2.00 p.m..   Superbly dedicated Reporter and Photographer, John Tarrant has been providing splendid updates on Meelin’s huge successes and will, undoubtedly, provide excellent coverage of the All-Ireland event.   We all wish the mighty Meelin Team every success in this very significant milestone of Meelin G.A.A..

General Election 2011 – LTV Broadcast on 21st, 22nd & 23rd February

LTV Local Television will broadcast a special Gerneral Election 2011 Programme on Monday, 21st February at 7.30 p.m. (time yet to be fully confirmed) where all participating Candidates who wish to share their thoughts will be given equal time opportunity on the transmission. The very same recorded programme will be repeated on the following two nights at the same time. Programme Co-ordinator is LTV's Dan Joe Kelleher.

A truly excellent Exhibition for Energy Awareness Day is being held today, 1st February 2011 (St. Brigid's Day) at Millstreet Library where all are invited to view and acquire wonderfully helpful leaflets and brochures and to discuss energy issues.
