Exciting Soapbox Race Impresses Enthusiastic Spectators

Superbly organized by the dedicated members of Millstreet’s Men’s Shed the Annual Soapbox Race took place on Sunday, 22nd July 2018 starting at the K&L Complex and finishing on Clara Road.  Commentator supreme Richard O’Sullivan introduced some eight adult competitors plus (new this year) a host of young people with their own toy vehicles.   Here we share just the beginning of a much longer feature later – just to give an idea of the truly wonderful atmosphere (despite the very humid weather conditions).  We begin by meeting the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners .  We also meet with representatives of the overall winners – Healy’s Bar, Kilcorney.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Winners all!
