Three 5th year students from Millstreet Community School will be participating in the Rise and Shine Trust young people’s pilgrimage to Lourdes during their Easter holidays in April. They are Katie O’Keeffe, Caoilfhionn O’Connor and Mike O’Donoghue.
As was the case in the past, the aim is to cover accommodation and travel costs for the students travelling (around €820/person) with all extra funds being passed onto Group 126. The group is meant to raise €19,000 in total to cover the costs of all the young people with special needs who travel with them to Lourdes.
The first fundraising venture was a table quiz that took place in November 2025. It was a wonderful night and a great success with more than €2100 raised. As a result, most of the travel and accommodation costs have been covered but there is an amount needed. Also, the students wanted to raise funds to contribute to the fundraising efforts of Group 126.
To help make all this possible a bake sale will be held in Millstreet Parish Centre after 6.15pm Mass on Saturday 14th Feb and after 11.30am Mass on Sunday 15th Feb.
Your support for this event would be greatly appreciated.
