Africa Day workshop with Artist Elton Sibanda for adults – Friday, May 22nd May @ 2:30 pm
Africa Day art workshop: a creative session that celebrates the rich cultures, traditions, and artistic heritage of the African continent. Participants will be exploring themes such as identity, community, and history through activities like sketching, drawing, or collage, often inspired by traditional patterns, symbols, and storytelling. The workshop encourages creativity, cultural appreciation, and self-expression in an inclusive and engaging environment.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Elton Sibanda is an artist and filmmaker. In Zimbabwe he was involved in developmental theatre facilitating acting and script writing workshops. Most of his art works have gained provincial and national recognition.
Elton Sibanda began printmaking as part of the Young Print Collective with the support of Cork Printmakers and Cork Migrant Centre and studied at MTU Crawford College of Art & Design. He uses his creative work to raise awareness on topical issues and as a vehicle for change.
