SECAD Employment Support Workshop – Millstreet FET 15th April @10:30 am

Workshop and Employment Support session in Millstreet

Wednesday 15th April 2026.

The session will begin with an information session/presentation, followed by an opportunity for attendees to meet one of the members of our employment team for a one-to-one consultation on the day. (note: workshops are for over 18’s) 

The title of the April workshop is: ‘CV & Training Opportunities’. This workshop will cover how build a better CV, discover courses and training to help clients to move into work. It will also allow for the clients to register for free upcoming SECAD courses: SafePass Manual Handling HACCP Retail Skills and more.

We would be very grateful if you could display this information and share locally with your clients, service users, contacts and on your social media, if possible, please.

Blackwater Valley Vintage Group Vintage Tractor Run happening on next Sunday March 29th in Aubane

The first Event of the Year for Blackwater Valley Vintage Group will kick off on next Sunday March 29th with a Vintage Tractor Run for Pre-1996 Models, Registration for the Event will be based out of Aubane Community Centre Eircode P51 EP49 with Sign On from 10.30am and Take Off at 12.30pm Refreshments,Tea/Coffee Scones etc will be Served at Registration. 

The Run will make its way over a scenic Route on to the finish in Healy`s Pub Kilcorney where we will finish off with more Food and Refreshments with Buger Sauages plus Salad etc available at €10 which can be redeemed by a Voucher purchased at Sign On,for more Details Call Jack Sheehan on 083-3736016.

As this is our first Event for 2026 like last year we will be using the Event for to cover our expenses like insurance etc for the year ahead and also from last years Event we donated to a couple of local Groups recently in the Millstreet Area namely the Knit and Natter Group who make cosey blankets clothes etc to benefit people who dont be well and are in Hospital care, while we also donated to Millstreet Museum and our local website millstreet.ie who do great work in promoting any happenings and events in the locality, again the plan is to help out a couple of more local groups/charities etc from our upcoming Tractor Run like we did in 2025,so your support on the day would be most welcome.🚜🚜🚜🚜

 

Jimmy O’Leary, Drishane Road, Millstreet

The death has occurred of Jimmy O’Leary, Drishane Road, Millstreet, Co. Cork.

Jimmy O’ Leary, Drishane Road, Millstreet, Co. Cork. Formerly of O’Leary’s Butchers, The Square, Millstreet & Valentine Avenue, New York.

On March 26th 2026, Jimmy passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff of University Hospital Kerry. Predeceased by his wife, Breda (Tucker), brothers William, Dan and Dermy (New York), and his sister Noreen O’Connor (New York).

Devoted husband of Kathleen (née O’Sullivan), beloved father of Jerry, James, Joan, Thomas, Finbarr, Brian and Breeda. Cherished grandad to Kevin, David, Sophie, Dylan, Colm, Ronan, Alan, Evie, Clara, Ellie, Daniel, Maeve, Isabelle and Emeli. Fondly remembered by his sister Kitty, his daughters-in-law Ann, Tríona, Sinéad, Nuala and his son-in-law Kieran, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Tarrant’s funeral home, Millstreet on Sunday 29th of March from 4pm to 7pm. Reception into St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Monday 30th for Requiem Mass at 11am . Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on https://www.churchservices.tv/millstreet

Burial immediately afterwards at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

Jimmy’s family wish to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Araglen Nursing Home, Boherbue, public health nurses, home care assistants, staff of Millstreet Daycare Centre, The Alzheimer’s Society, Dr. Michael Casey and Reen’s Pharmacy Millstreet for all their care and support to Jimmy and all his family.
