On the contribution of Tim O’Shea to Millstreet.ie
As well as being a great neighbour and friend to me personally, I’d just like to make note of Tim O’Shea‘s contribution to Millstreet.ie over many years which he never looked for credit for.
Whenever I was researching people / families / genealogy on Millstreet.ie, Tim was one of the people I would always ring. I’d be on the phone to him for ages, he always knew who everyone was from his youth, and often knew of people from before his time. He knew who they were related to, where they lived, where they moved to, and he had many stories about people which gave a good sense of who they were. An encyclopaedia of local knowledge, which he was always willing to give freely. I did my best to connect all the information together and write it down, but his knowledge is a loss that can’t be replaced.
