Eily’s Report – 26th August

Dia is Mhuire diobh go léir a Cáirde and welcome to my report.

A week of exciting Leaving Cert Results gone and an even more exciting one  here this week . Last week we saw many happy faces as the long awaited Leaving Cert Results became a reality and now that our young people have received their marks they anxiously await the announcement of places on tomorrow Wednesday. It is then  they will have to make choices according to places. The whole course of a life could change because of a number and while we wish them the very best we turn our thoughts to the tiny tots who will be heading off to school for the very first time. Also the boys from the Convent Presentation school who will be going to the Boys National for the first time. In some cases twins who will be split up for the first time. Others progressing  from Nationals to the Community school. Lots of changes ,but we are confident that our wonderful teachers and other staff will make the transitions run smoothly.

At 8pm we feature Jimmy Reidy’s Archival programme relating to Newtownshandrum…Repeated on Sunday at 10pm.  

“Radio Treasures” on www.corkmusicstation.com from 9.15pm this Tuesday, 26th August 2025 is different this week in that it is a Prerecorded Programme lasting 38 minutes…..features a variety of topics tonight including:

A special recording of Rita O’Sullivan’s Address at the Unveiling by Mary Lane and Mary McSweeney of the Mushera Dance Platform on Sunday, 24th Aug. 2025.
