As we lovingly remember MIKIE, who died on May 26th 2024, his wife Margaret and family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised with us, called to the house and brought food, sent mass cards, perpetual enrolments and posted condolences online, attended his Removal and Funeral Services. We would like to thank most sincerely the Casey Family and all the staff at Tullig Medical Centre, all the staff at Reen’s Pharmacy South Doc, The National Ambulance service and the staff at Mallow General Hospital, the Public Health Nurses, Home Helps and numerous dedicated carers over the years, which made it possible for him to stay at home for so long.

We would like to thank Canon John Fitzgerald and Fr David Herlihy for celebrating the funeral mass, we would like to thank Fr John for his many home visits over the years. Thanks to Sharon Lane and Julie Brady for assistance and Jerry Doody for the beautiful singing and music in the church. Thanks also for Mikie’s kind neighbours, friends and everyone who stood in the main street and also in Brookpark on his final journey to Kilcorney cemetery. To all the staff of the Wallis Arms Hotel who provided refreshments afterwards.  Thank you to Davy Tarrant undertakers Cora and all the team for  organising the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere thanks and gratitude. The holy sacrifice of the mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Sunday 25th May 2025, at 11.30am.

The death has occurred of Bridie O’Connor (née Doody), Foyle, Ballydesmond, Co. Cork / Co. Kerry.

Bridie O’Connor (née Doody), Foyle, Ballydesmond, passed away peacefully on May 20th 2025 surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of Araglen House, Nursing Home, Boherbue. Pre-deceased by her husbands Daniel O’Connor and Dan McCormack.

Deeply regretted by her daughter Joan Hurley, sons Fr. Martin McCormack S.D.B., John O’Connor and Pat O’Connor, son-in-law Seán, daughter-in-law Olivia, grandchildren Lyn, Siobhán, Meg, Hollis, Leonie, Luke and Shane, nephews, nieces, sister-in-law Maisie O’Connor, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Casey’s Funeral Home, Kiskeam (P51 TWO8) on Wednesday (May 21st) from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Reception into St. Patrick’s Church, Ballydesmond (P51 F6Y4) on Thursday (May 22nd) for Requiem Mass at 1pm, followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.
