Leo Leader, Glenleigh, Kilcorney

The death has occurred of Leo Leader, Glenleigh, Kilcorney, Co. Cork.

Leo passed away peacefully in Araglen House, Boherbue, on April 30th 2025, in the presence of his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents William and Nora and sister Nellie.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Maureen (Breen), children Teresa, Martin, Noelle and Leonard, son-in-law Robbin, daughters-in-law Agnes and Anita, brothers Paddy and Denis, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Grace, Jennifer, Conor, Laura, Caitlin, Lauren and Billy, his dear friend Martin Duggan, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at McCarthy’s Funeral Home, Banteer on Friday (May 2nd) from 6.30pm to 8:00pm with prayers at 7:30p.m. Reception into St Nicholas’ Church, Kilcorney (P51 FW65) on Saturday (May 3rd) for Requiem Mass at 11:30am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Leader and to the staff of Araglen House, Boherbue for the exceptional care shown to Leo during his time with them.   Condolences.

Millstreet Meals on Wheels Service

The Millstreet Meals on Wheels service is available for the elderly & isolated in the Millstreet catchment area. All food is prepared in Millstreet Day Centre & we operate the service 5 days a week. You can order a hot dinner for as many days as you like, delivered to your door from Mon-Fri for just €6 a day for the main meal & €2 for dessert.

 A variety of meals are served throughout the week and the staff will endeavour to facilitate individual tastes when preparing meals. Coeliac dinners & desserts available also. Please see our menu for next week below.

Millstreet Pipe Band are playing at the Munster Senior Football

Millstreet Pipe Band are playing at the Munster Senior Football Final between Kerry & Clare on Sunday 4th May.
The Pipe Band will once again continue their long association with Fitzgerald Stadium on Munster Final Day. On the day itself, the band will play before the final & lead the teams around the pitch in the pre-match parade.
