Great Turnout for the first ever Millstreet Vintage Club Charity Van Run in Aid of St Joseph’s Foundation

Millstreet Vintage Club and Event Organiser Martin Lucey would like to thank Everyone that took part in the Jeep and Van Run held last Sunday in aid of St. Joseph’s Foundation, there was a great Turnout of 90 Vehicles which took part and they left the Green Glens Complex in Millstreet just after 12 noon and then made there way to Dromtariffe,Newmarket and then heading on to Ballydesmond, Knocknagree, Rathmore and back to the finish in Millstreet.
Martin Lucey and Millstreet Vintage Club were delighted with the support and thanked Everyone for making the Trip to the Event both from near and far and a big thanks must go out to the Marshals and An Garda Siochana who kept the Event flowing so smoothly,also thanks to all the people helping out at Event Sign On,Documentation etc,to the Media and Photographers who covered the event both on the day and in the lead up,also many thanks to the Duggan Family for the use of a great Venue in Green Glens,to our Sponsors of Prizes on the day who were Millstreet/Macroom Motor Factors, John Guerin Crash Repairs and ImoB Auto thanks for your support and a shout out as well must go to Susan Nolan for taking the time out to say a few words before the Run departed from Millstreet and thanks as well to the Collins Teachers for bringing along the Bus and to FaceCook for looking after the catering and to anybody else who helped out in anyway thanks a lot,without the help and support the Event would not have been the success that it was,we hope everybody enjoyed the Run and look forward to seeing you all again very soon.

McCabe & Casey Wonderful Reunion at Pomeroy’s “Clara Inn”

We thank Seánó Murphy of Knocknagree and formerly of High Mill Lane, Millstreet for sharing three images which recorded a wonderful Family Reunion at Pomeroy’s “Clara Inn” on Saturday, 22nd July 2023 when some 34 people assembled to celebrate an American/Irish get together.   The two Families related to the McCabe and Casey Clan.    Special thanks also to Mary Buckley (née Casey) for providing the very comprehensive caption outlining the names of the 34 people present for the historic occasion.   Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Pat Lane, 20 Old Coach Avenue, Millstreet – Acknowledgement and First Anniversary

On Pat’s First Anniversary Mary, Maria, Con and Patrick would like to thank all our relatives and friends who sympathised with us on Pat’s passing. We offer our thanks to all who attended the removal and funeral Mass, those who sent Mass cards and those who travelled long distances. A special thanks to our exceptional family, friends and neighbours who supported us through everything. We would like to thank Canon John  Fitzgerald and also Sharon Lane in the Parish Centre. Thanks to Davy, Cora and Declan of Tarrant’s Funeral Home for their guidance and professionalism. To Siobhán Forde for the beautiful music in the Church. To Dr. Christine and Dr. Liam and all the Staff at Millstreet Medical Centre. Thanks to Jim and Nadeem for their exceptional care of Pat with home help.Thanks to Humphrey, Caroline and the Staff in the Bridge Bar for the refreshments afterwards. Pat’s First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Sunday, 6th August 2023 at 11.30am. 

Millstreet Meals on Wheels service

The Millstreet Meals on Wheels service is available for the elderly & isolated in the Millstreet catchment area. All food is prepared in Millstreet Day Centre & we operate the service 5 days a week. You can order a hot dinner for as many days as you like, delivered to your door from Mon-Fri for just €6 a day for the main meal & €2 for dessert.

 A variety of meals are served throughout the week and the staff will endeavour to facilitate individual tastes when preparing meals. Coeliac dinners & desserts available also. Please see our menu for next week below.
