Where The Road Takes Me

On this week’s edition of Where the road takes me, John Greene goes here, there and everywhere – virtually of course and observing social distancing if required – which it wasn’t.

They were regarded as helpful and kind landlords, but their stately home was still burned in June of 1921.  A visit to Ryecourt to meet Rosaleen Tonson-Rye is planned.

In the aftermath of a successful Cheltenham festival for the Irish, we pay a visit to the homeplace of legendary horse trainer Vincent o’Brien.

And……..We recall a conversation with Hubie Hurley from Farnanes who passed away on February 9th last.  After his father died at a young age, Hubie’s mother pulled out all the stops to ensure all her family had  careers.  As a result, Hubie and his brother’ Pat’s talent is still on view in many churches today. Proposed Musheramore Windfarm (Any Objections to be Lodged by April 1st)

ANYONE WANTING TO ADD THERE NAME TO A PETITION TO OBJECT TO THE PROPOSED WINDFARM IN MUSHERA SHOULD GET THERE NAMES INTO EITHER GWEN BARRETT OR NOREEN KELLEHER BY NEXT TUESDAY FOR TO GET THE APPLICATION OF OBJECTION COMPLETED BEFORE APRIL 1ST

If anyone wishing to join into an objection to the planning which has been lodged by wind farm co also objection to 80 Mtr Mast on Mushera Mountain would they drop their name into Gwen Barrett’s Postbox in Aubane closing date for an objection is 1st April as many names as possible for an objection you can also send in your own objection if you wish our lovely scenic views and lovely walks and the wildlife interfered with. Please show your support with a petition as public meetings are not possible at the moment with Covid 19 Restrictions.

Millstreet Primary Schools Parents Assn gofundme page

Just a reminder, Millstreet Primary Schools Parents Assn have set up a gofundme page, as they haven’t been able to do their usual fund raising in the last year, so far they have raised €550 and wish to thank the people who have donated.  Also, don’t forget they have a competition on their Facebook Page for some lovely prizes sponsored by Herlihy Centra, and O’Keeffe’s Supervalu.

“Lunchtime Favourites” Sunday 28th March 2021 – 12.30 to 2.00pm
