Dr. Patrick (Pat) Casey

The death has occurred of Dr. Patrick (Pat) Casey, Millstreet, Co. Cork.On February 18th 2021, peacefully in the exceptional care of the staff of Cork University Hospital. Beloved husband of Nora, much loved father to Michael, Louise, Desmond, Patrick and Teresa, and adoring grandfather to Conor, Aoife, Méabh, Tom, Íde and Paddy. Very sadly missed by his wife and family, daughters-in-law Maria and Gráinne, sons-in-law Derek and Seb, sister Eileen, brother-in-law Desmond. Predeceased by his brother Tom and sisters Brigid and Mary. Dearly remembered by his niece, nephews, relatives, wide circle of many great friends, colleagues and patients.

Due to the current restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will take place in St. Patrick’s Church Millstreet on February 20th at 2.30pm. Those who would like to have attended but cannot, may view the service which will be livestreamed on www.churchservices.tv/millstreet

Book to mark the Clonbanin Ambush

The Centenary of the Clonbanin Ambush is on the 5th March 2021 and the Clonbanin Ambush Commemoration committee has launched a book  to mark the event. It tells the story of the Ambush and events surrounding it. The book is for sale at local outlets throughout Duhallow and is priced at €10. We would like to thank all the businesses who facilitated us in the sale of the book.

Millstreet Parents Association Pancake Competition

Millstreet Parents Association would like to thank all the talented children who sent in entries from both the Presentation N.S. and Scoil Mhuire B.N.S.  The children sent in a lot of fantastic pictures of how they like to have their Pancakes, lots of wonderful designs and colours, I am told it made the decision of who the winner was such a hard job.  Here are the pictures, some great talent here I think you’ll agree.

CRR Air Ambulance

ICRR AIR AMBULANCE TASKED 490 TIMES DURING FIRST FULL YEAR

Life saving service provided support to HSE in 13 counties in 2020

The Irish Community Rapid Response Air Ambulance was tasked to 490 incidents across 13 counties during 2020, which was its first full year in operation.

The ICRR Air Ambulance, based in Rathcoole in County Cork, works in tandem with the National Ambulance Service to provide both paramedic support and transport to hospital for seriously ill patients.

Figures from the ICRR show that July was the single busiest month, with the Air Ambulance being tasked a total of 59 times. Road traffic accidents account for the most incidents, with a total of 94 taskings throughout the year.
