Tonight we feature at 10pm a special Reflection on the Years of Ones  from 1921…1931…1941…1951…1961….1971…1981…1991…2001…2011 up to the upcoming 2021.   We remember the great Julia Murphy who in her 106th year was laid to rest today.  R.I.P.. And we feature a wonderful selection of songs, music and musings as we invite André Rieu and Orchestra to bring the Year of 2020 to a close.  And we announce an important Milestone just reached in the history of Cork Music Station!  Every Blessing and Happiness to all our Loyal Listeners…and new Listeners…throughout a very Bright and Healthy New Year.  And we chat about the attached images.  Tap on the pictures to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Geraldine Lucey, Kanturk (née Burton, Minehill)

The death has occurred of Geraldine Lucey (née Burton, Minehill)
Rathmaher, Kanturk, Cork. Peacefully, in the presence of her family, at her residence. Beloved wife of Albert and dear mother of Katharin, John, Albert, Conor and Damien, sister of the late Margo Hunt and grandmother of the late Anna-Mary Lucey. Sadly missed by her loving family, brothers Tim, Pat and John, grandchildren Darragh and Finn O’Connor, Jack and Ava-Grace Lucey, Diamonde Lucey, Aaron, Freya and Ada Lucey, Sean and Niamh Lucey, son in law Cathal, daughters in law Bridget, Mary and Claire, sisters in law Eileen, Eileen and Mary, aunts Geraldine Kenneally, Kanturk and Mary Howard, Springrove, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends. Requiescat in Pace. [RIP]

In accordance with current guidelines, Geraldine’s Funeral Mass shall take place privately, for family only, on Wednesday at 2pm in St Mary’s Church, Cadtlemagner, which shall be live-streamed on mycondolences.ie. Burial afterwards in St Brigid’s Cemetery, Castlemagner. Family flowers only. Donations, in lieu, to COPE Foundation. Condolences may be added on the RIP Condolences Page.

Winners of MDCC Christmas Raffle 2020 Selected

The Winners of the 2020 Christmas Raffle in aid of Millstreet Day Care Centre were drawn at the Day Centre on Wednesday, 23rd Dec..  Gladly we were able to make contact with all the Winners within a brief period and arranged to photograph the presentations.  There was a wonderful response to the Annual Draw which is greatly appreciated by MDCC.  Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

First Prize Winner of the magnificent Hamper was Ann Harkin of Skibbereen whose father, Danny Murphy accepted the impressive prize for Ann.
Second Prize Winners Denis and Elizabeth Hickey of Clara Road accepted the Christmas Cake and the Christmas Pudding. Their dog, Daisy was also mentioned on the ticket! 
Third Prize Winner was Gerard Murphy of Coolikerane whose mother, Kathleen accepted the prize.
