We invite you to submit your Requests for our weekly Music Request Show “Lunchtime Favourites” (Sunday, 18th Oct. 2020) on Cork Music Station which is broadcast directly after our transmission of the celebration of 11:30 am Mass from 12:10pm until 13:30.   Just email your requests anytime either to corkmusicstation @gmail.com OR to millstreetmuseum @gmail.com or text/WhatsApp to 086 825 0074

On this Sunday’s programme we present an uplifting challenge to our Superb Dancers!   As well as some glorious waltzes, tango dances, the slosh, slides, jigs and splendid marches we introduce “Zorba’s Dance” to try out a touch of Greek dancing!  Our experienced Dancers will undoubtedly meet the challenge in style!

And we feature lots of cheerful songs from the 1960s as well as two special songs for our young Listeners.

Jim O’Connor – Acknowledgement & First Anniversary

Jim O’Connor
West End
Millstreet
Acknowledgement and 1st Anniversary
16 October 2019
The family of the late Jim O’Connor wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on our very sad loss.
We would like to thank those who sent mass cards, flowers, letters of sympathy, made phone calls, those who attended his removal, mass and burial, and who traveled long distances to be with us.
We acknowledge with gratitude the very kind support shown by our neighbours, friends and family who called with food to the house. Many thanks to the ambulance service and the staff of Cork University Hospital including the ODTI Team in Dublin.
Our sincere thanks to Canon John Fitzgerald and Fr Paddy Byrne who officiated at Jim’s funeral, and Julie and Sharon for their invaluable kind help. Thanks to Siobhán for the beautiful music and to Davy Tarrant for his assistance and professionalism. A very special thanks to Gordon and all Jim’s friends and comrades in the Army Reserve Defence Force who formed a guard of honour, along with the bearer party who helped carry Jim to the church and to his final resting place in St. Mary’s. Thank you for your service.
As it would not be possible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude and appreciation to all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Míle buíochas as ucht ár gcroí.

A FEW WORDS OF ENCOURAGMENT

This weekend we are once again facing a time of uncertainty as a community, Parish and country.  We are experiencing such a range of emotions and everyone is fearful of this virus coming into our lives and homes and the affect it would have on our loved ones and on ourselves. During the month of October let us pray to Our Lady for the strength and courage we need and let the words of Pope Francis be a daily reminder of how much we have to offer those who may need it.
