“Lunchtime Favourites” After Mass on CMS Sunday 9th August 2020 Until 1.30pm

We invite you to submit your Requests for our weekly Music Request Show “Lunchtime Favourites” (Sunday, 9th August 2020) on Cork Music Station which is broadcast directly after our transmission of the celebration of 11:30 am Mass from 12:10pm until 13:30pm.   Just email your requests anytime to millstreetmuseum @gmail.com or text/WhatsApp to 086 825 0074.   Our focus this Sunday will include the wonderfully uplifting songs and tunes hugely popular in the era of Carnivals in Millstreet in the 1950s and 1960s.  Sure to evoke some great memories!   Further gems in song we also share.  We hear about the recent First Wedding in Millstreet since February.   We share an inspiring brief feature on Time  …. Also a song about the COVID Mask (thanks to Jim Wickham).  We listen to the wonderfully talented Cullen Musicians playing at “Lúibín a’ Rince” And celebrating Stefan Healy’s acceptance into the prestigious RADA in London we hear a splendid song entitled “Pick a Simple Song” from the hugely successful West End Musical “Half a Sixpence”.  This and much more!   Happy Listening!  Tap on the images to enlarge.   (S.R.)

Can anyone identify this beautiful bird which Noel C. Duggan, a Visitor from Longford and I met in St. Patrick’s Cemetery (beside the Church)? The bird was so very friendly and we all agreed that it directed us to the grave which was being sought by the Longford Visitor. UPDATE: Poet Supreme Francis Duggan got in touch with us from Australia this Sunday morning to indicate the the Bird is a JUVENILE EUROPEAN ROBIN (3 to 4 months old). Thanks a million Francis.
