Superb Author Ann Linehan introduced her beautifully illustrated book entitled Sam & Sue Learn About Cybersafety to Siobhán O’Leary’s enthusiastic Class from Presentation N.S. on Wednesday, 26th Feb. 2020 in Millstreet Library at the invitation of Librarian Grace Tangney.   And there was even a special Draw with many winners.   Ann is scheduled to publish a number of other excellent Safety Books in the series in time to come.   Here we share a selection of images from Wednesday’s inspiring occasion.  Tap on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Language and Culture Night 2020 (amended date)

This year’s Language and Culture Night will now take place in Millstreet Community School library/canteen on Thursday 23rd April beginning at 7pm.  This important annual event will once again recognise and celebrate the different nationalities and cultures that are represented within our community.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Admission is free.  More details to follow.

Thanks for supporting the fundraising efforts of Millstreet students going to Lourdes as helpers

A big thank you to everyone who supported the fundraising efforts of Ria Buckley and Hannah Keane (5th year students at Millstreet Community School) over the last three months.  They will will travelling with the Irish Pilgrimage Trust as helpers at Easter.  The travel and accommodation cost for student helpers on the pilgrimage is €675/person.  These costs have now been covered and an extra €1017.50 has been raised on top of this which go towards the fundraising efforts of Group 126, which is the Irish Pilgrimage Trust group the girls will be travelling with.

The death has occurred of Margaret (Tessie) McAuliffe (née Lee)
Murphys Tce., Millstreet. On February 25th 2020, peacefully in the loving care of the wonderful staff at Carechoice Nursing Home, Macroom. Beloved wife of the late Florrie Mc Auliffe, loving mother of Mary (Buckley), Dromcollogher and Ann (Cullinane), Millstreet, sisters Sheila and Pauline, sisters-in-law Liz and Celia, sons-in-law, Mossie and Tony, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. “May she rest in Peace”.

Lying in repose at Tarrant’s Funeral Home, Millstreet on Wednesday evening, Rosary at 8pm. Reposing on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm followed by removal to St Patrick’s Church, Millstreet. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon; burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery. [rip] 1
