Historic Signs Then & Now – 1992 and 2019

On Thursday, 22nd August 2019 Nora McSweeney in the company of her son, Fr. James – very kindly presented to Millstreet Museum the official Country Markets Ltd. Sign which was in use in Millstreet at the hugely popular Friday Country Market held weekly in Millstreet GAA Community Hall from 1992 until 2006.  Nora dedicatedly brought the now familiar Sign every Friday from her home to the Market and then took it back home again as Nora was the Official Keeper of the Sign.   And we also view a further very impressive new Sign put in place by Millstreet Community School and Millstreet GAA wishing Sportsmen supreme – Darragh Cashman and Luke Murphy every success in the upcoming All-Ireland event in Croke Park.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
