Wind Farm being planned for Mushera and Ballinagree

David contacted us recently about a new wind farm that is being planned for Mushera Mountain, and near Ballinagree. He and others are concerned that wind turbines will destroy the scenic walking route, “the Duhallow Way”, that the wind turbines will pose a serious health hazard to people living near them, and also cause severe disruption to the hen harrier population and wildlife of the Mushera Valley, and is asking people to sign the petition to try to stop this development.

Ballinagree Wind Farm and is a joint venture between Irish forestry company Coillte, and the large Canadian multinational Brookfield Renewables, and is currently in the planning stage.

Death Notice: Anna Hartnett, Clara Road

On 20th of August 2019 passed away unexpectedly in Cork University Hospital. Loving wife of the late Noel and dear mother of the late Gillian and sister of the late Dermot and Tim. Deeply regretted by her loving family sons Ben and Conor, daughter Gráinne (Casey), sisters Eileen, Esther and Maura. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Tom, Íde, Paddy and Annamaria, son-in-law Patrick, daughters-in-law Mary and Cristiane, neighbours and friends.
Lying in Repose at her residence on Thursday Rosary at 8pm. Reposing in Tarrant’s Funeral, Millstreet (Eircode P51 XF86) on Friday evening from 6pm to 8pm followed by Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Millstreet Town. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12 noon burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet. [rip]
