Looking for relatives of Timothy Foley

I am looking for relatives of TIMOTHY FOLEY who lived in the Millstreet area. He was born at Doon (Doonasleen) on the 17 July 1902. I recall being told his daughter played cards at Marion’s Bar (McCarthy’s Bar) some 12 or 14 years ago. I myself am from Doon trying to help a relative of the Foleys in Idaho USA. Like to know where Foleys are buried. I suspect the old cementery Cullen. She is visiting Ireland in August, and any help is welcome. I live in New York. Would like to hear from you. <email> [read more …] “Looking for relatives of Timothy Foley”

Eily’s Report – 24th April

Dia is Mhuire díobh go léir a Chairde and welcome.

I hope you enjoyed the lovely weather over the weekend. It’s lovely to see cows out in some fields, while others were able to cut the precious grass and bring it in to feed their stock. It is amazing what can be achieved in time of crisis.  Retrieving the lush growth from around Cork Airport was certainly a first, and only goes to show the amount of  feed that has been lost and wasted over the years.

But first things first. I want to send good wishes to a host of people today. A Very Happy 104th birthday to the sprightly Julia Murphy, Ballydaly. A Grand party was held in her honour at the Canon O Donovan Centre last week where she read her greetings cards without glasses.  And still with Ballydaly, Jerry Lehane and his lovely wife Marie  are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. While mé féin and the renowned Joanne O’Riordan, celebrate our birthdays every year on April 24th.  [read more …] “Eily’s Report – 24th April”
