Death Notice: Peter ‘Paul’ Fitzgerald

The death has occurred of Peter ‘Paul’ FITZGERALD, Banteer, USA, Millstreet, Cork. Peter ‘Paul’ (retired USAF), peacefully on Tuesday 17th October 2017 surrounded by his loving family, in the comforting care of the staff at Araglen Nursing Home, in his 91st year. Predeceased by his first wife Mary (Boyle) and son Paul, brother of the late Teddy, Bill, Peggy (O Mahony) and Bridie (Mc Auliffe). Sadly missed by his second wife Sheila (Kelleher), daughters Ann McConnell, Pat Randles and Meg, brother Patrick (USA), sister Mary Lehane (USA), sister-in-law Peggy Flynn, Joan McAuliffe, Bridie Boyle and Ann Fitzgerald, sons-in-law Bob and John, grandchildern John Paul, Patrick, Mary and Katie and great grandson Joe, nieces and nephews, extended family relatives and his many friends. Reposing at Tarrants Funeral Home, Millstreet on Thursday from 6pm followed by removal at 8pm to St Patricks Church, Millstreet. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am and burial afterwards to St Marys Cemetery Millstreet. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to ‘The Alzheimers Society’.

Ophelia: Pat Sheehan interviewed about Kilcorney Church

Unfortunately St. Nicholas’ Church in Kilcorney lost part of its roof yesterday during Storm Ophelia, but thankfully no-one was hurt. Today, Pat Sheehan from Kilcorney NS Board of Management was interviewed on RTE Radio 1 by Evelyn O’Rourke about what happened, and what will happen.
