The results of the AIDAN BURKE MEMORIAL TROPHY were:

2nd Place: Ian Brophy (captain), Denis Breen, Brian O’Sullivan, Derry Sheehan, Marie Casey, Sonya O’Riordan, Patsy Corcoran, Dylan Downey, Colin Murphy

3rd Place: Fionn Murphy, Evan O’Mahony, Frank Reen, Michael Breen, John Twomey, Mary O’Mahony, James Bourke, John B.Sheehan, Maeve Flynn, William McCarthy

Presentation of prizes and a party will take place at the Club House at 8pm on Tuesday next 15th August.

Also on Tuesday evening at 6.30pm the ladies and juvenile girls will play THE DISCOUNT STORES TROPHY, while the weekly 3 ball scramble will go ahead as normal on Tuesday evening also at the usual time of 7pm.

John Joe Daly told the stories of Ireland’s tears and joy
He told stories of the black and tans and civil war and of Tubrid Well
He was an old pipe smoking bloke with yarns in galore for to tell

He told of how Paddy McCarthy a warrior rebel of renown
Died on a bleak night in November in Millview Lane in Millstreet Town
Out numbered by the black and tans he died under gunfire
Stories of such acts of bravery others to take up arms does inspire

Wonderful Wedding of Marie & Cathal on Saturday

We thank the Happy Couple – Marie Coleman of Millstreet and Cathal Moynihan of Glenflesk – for permitting us to share a brief selection of images relating to their Wonderful Wedding Day at St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet on Sat. 12th Aug. 2017.   As Cathal has been a member of the Olympic Rowing Team a most impressive Guard of Honour of Rowers awaited the Happy Couple following the celebration of Mass.  We wish Marie and Cathal every Blessing and Happiness for the future.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
