Eily’s Report – 18th July

Get ready  once again, to welcome 16 countries  to Millstreet this week for the FEI  European  Championships which will be held at our mighty Green Glens / Drishane Complex and will run from July 19th to 23rd inclusive. Here is the list of Countries that are coming: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, and Sweden.  Since early last week they’ve been arriving, and filling the town with excitement as we prepare for the grand opening Parade  which will take place through the town at 6.30 on tomorrow Wednesday evening, July 19th. Welcome signs are placed on all the approach roads. The town will be decorated with bunting and the flags of the visiting countries. People are asked to decorate their windows and places of business and there will be a prize for the best one.

Following the Parade  which will be led by the Millstreet Pipe Band. All are invited along to the Green Glens for a  free  concert of live music and a performance by the mighty Fusion Fighters, for the official opening of the 2017  FEI European Championships. For young riders of 18/21.

Please pass the word around so that nobody will miss this spectacular performance.

On Thursday night July 20th at the Green Glens, meet the athletes from the 16 countries at a BBQ . Limited number of tickets available at the office, 02970800.

Millstreet Welcomes Our European Visitors to Prestigious Equestrian Event

A Very Happy 60th Birthday Martin

We extend sincere Birthday Greetings to Martin Goggin who celebrated his 60th Birthday on 17th July 2017. We thank Miriam O’Sullivan for the selection of images who states “I am sharing a few photographs from his party with his friends at the COPE Foundation in Mallow. The last photograph shows Martin cutting his birthday cake assisted by his housemother Cathleen O’Brien.
