“Radio Treasures” Celebrates St. Patrick’s Week 2017

Tonight’s “Radio Treasures” truly celebrates St. Patrick’s Week 2017.   Our music is distinctively Irish and we chat about the many traditions and stories relating to our National Feast.  We share news about last Sunday’s  Parade in Rathmore and we talk about next Sunday’s Parade in Carriganima.  We also view images from today’s Confirmation Ceremony in Millstreet.  Our programme is from 9:30 to 11:00pm.   Click on the images below to enlarge.  (S.R.)  Just log into www.corkmusicstation.com.

Eily’s Report – 14th March

Dia is Mhuire diobh go léir a chairde and welcome to my weekly report.

This is a big Day in Millstreet with about 78 children receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. The celebrant being Bishop of Kerry Ray Brown. The ceremony starts at 3.30pm  and I want to send our sincere congratulations to all the children and their parents, teachers and guardians on this momentous occasion. All are welcome to attend.

The monthly meeting of the Community Council will be held tonight at the Wallis Arms Hotel Starting at 9 and all members please attend to finalise the plans for St.Patrick’s Day Parade, on Friday.

Everybody is asked to come out in honour of our Patron Saint. The Parade will start out from the Green Glens Yard Station Rd.at 5pm and proceed to the reviewing stand in the Town Square. All clubs, schools, groups pre-school and individuals are asked to take part. There will be prizes for the best float, commercial, industrial, vintage entries and a host of other features in the parade as well as best dressed window. The town will be adorned with colourful bunting. For the little ones, there will be face-painting at the E-Centre. The list goes on and we hope the weather will be kind.

Cullen & District Special Needs Association Prizegiving Event 2017

The ten week Sponsored Weight Loss Programme in aid of Cullen & District Special Needs Association came to an end on Monday, 13th March 2017 in Cullen Community Centre. A total of 465 lbs was lost over the ten weeks and a total of €5,270.00 was contributed. Sincere congratulations to the organisers, the winners and all those who helped in any way to make the annual event such a tremendous success. Click on the images to enlarge. (S.R.)
