Eily’s Report – 28th February

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a Cairde and welcome to my weekly Report.

The wild a blustery hurricane Ewan left no doubt in our minds that our annual March Fair would be  a non-runner last Sunday. Never in living memory did we see our town so devoid of trade stands and people for this historical event. A few die-hards did brave the elements to bring some horses, mbut they were few to say the least. We can only hope for better luck next tear.

The Community Council held a special meeting on Tuesday night to draw up plans for this years St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The members were very enthusiastic  and all were at the ready to take on the running of  the event in honour of our Patron Saint. A further meeting will be held in advance of the Big Day. Meanwhile the public are asked to prepare well and be at the ready to take part in the Parade which will held at 5pm on Friday March 17th.

The next organisers meeting will be held on Tuesday March 7th.There are prizes for the best Float, the best Fleet, also a prize for the Best Dressed window and lots more.
