Death Notice: John Forde, Ballincollig & Millstreet

The death has occurred of John Forde (Ballincollig and late of Millstreet).
On September 7th 2016, peacefully at Cork University Hospital surrounded by his loving family, John, (Late Roches Stores, Wilton), beloved husband of Anne (nee O’Brien) and loving father of Ger, John, Triona and Laura. Much loved grandad of Ethan, Dylan, Jessica, Jill and Arlo and brother of the late Paddy and Jerry. Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, daughter-in-law Gretta, sons-in-law, Michael and Mark, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, especially Jerry, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.

Lying in repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig Friday (9th) from 7pm followed by Rosary and Removal at 8.30pm to the Church of St. Mary and St. John, Ballincollig. Requiem Mass on Saturday(10th) at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

Frankie Gavin & De Danann to open Briery Gap Programme!

fg_dd_rszAfter a turbulent number of months, the outlook is now brighter for Briery Gap as a bumper Autumn/Winter programme will begin shortly. We would like to sincerely thank the whole community and local businesses for their help, encouragement and assistance during this time. This help has enabled us to continue our cinema programme at the Castle Hotel, open a new Box Office just four doors up from the Briery Gap Building and plan an exciting line-up of shows at Riverside Park Hotel.

Our season will kick off on September 17th at 8:30pm with Frankie Gavin & De Danann, a group who thrill audiences wherever they perform with their modern blend of Irish traditional music – from venues all over the world, to performing for numerous American Presidents at the White House.
