MURPHY  (Healy’s Bridge, Carrigrohane, Cork): On July 13, 2016, peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Cork University Hospital, CATHERINE (KITTY) (nee Kelleher), beloved wife of the late Con, loving mother of Martha and the late Theresa, mother-in-law of Niall, adoring nana of Stephen and Laurie, sister of Willie, John and the late Mike. Sadly missed by her loving family, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of neighbours and friends. Lying in repose at the Wilton Funeral Home, Sarsfield Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. Rosary on this Thursday evening at 8.00pm. Removal on Friday at 7.30pm to St. Senan’s Church, Cloghroe. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11.00am. Funeral afterwards to Ovens Cemetery.

Spectacular Opening Parade & Concert for World Mounted Games

The spectacular Parade marking the official opening of the World Mounted Games reminded us all of Eurovision Week 1993 such was the colourful magic of the wonderful event on Tuesday evening - 12th July 2016 - blessed with superb weather.  There is a 27minute video by Porter Wilson on YouTube.  The Parade was followed by a brilliant Liam O'Connor and his Splendid Group Concert in Green Glens.  Here we share highlights of the amazing occasion.  MC of the Parade was Conor O'Leary and the official opening was by Noel Buckley in Green Glens in advance of the Concert and following the Drinks Reception.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)

Death Notice: Thomas Goggin, Kilcorney and Carriganima

The death has taken place on July 12th of Thomas Goggin, South Horsemount, Kilcorney, and late of Moulnahorna, Carriganima. Peacefully in the care of Mallow General Hospital. Son of the late Danny and Kate Goggin. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Christy, sisters Mary, Sheila, Anne, and Helen, sister-in-law Gobnait, brothers-in-law Don and Frank, nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

Reposing at St.Nicholas’ Church, Kilcorney, on Wednesday 13th July from 6:30pm followed by Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday 14th July at 11am, followed by burial afterwards in St.Coleman’s Cemetery, Macroom. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
