After many years of being the driving force behind Millstreet Camogie Club, Joan Casey has been selected by the Cork County Camogie Association, as their recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year Award” for  2015.Joan will be going forward as the Cork representative for the National Volunteer of the Year award in Croke Park on February 20th.

This award is an acknowledgment of her dedication to Millstreet Camogie Club and also for being the face of Millstreet Camogie Club at County Board Level. 

Joan’s role extends from the mundane job of jersey washing to the complexity of co-ordinating matches, while always having the girls best interests at heart. Are you concerned by what your children are exposed to online? Come along to this FREE information evening facilitated by the Parents Council of Boherbue NS, which is open to all parents in the Duhallow area.

Ms Breda Gallagher (National Parents Council) will provide you with information and skills to enable in your child’s online life and to protect them from cyber bullying.

Death Notice: Eileen Corcoran, West End

CORCORAN (West End, Millstreet): On February 6, 2016, EILEEN, passed away, peacefully. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sister Teresa, nieces Sheila and Helen, Helen’s husband Martin, their children Jennifer, Rebecca and Samuel and her extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass for Eileen will take place tomorrow, Sunday, at 11.30am in St. Patrick’s Church, Millstreet. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet. May she rest in peace.

KELLEHER (Dooneens, Rylane): On February 12, 2016, peacefully, in the presence of his loving family and in the care of the staff of Blairs Hill Nursing Home, CON, beloved husband of Concepta (nee O’Keeffe) and loving father of Ann, Mort, Celina and the late Catherine, cherished brother of Gerald, Ena, Barry and Denis and uncle of the late Barry. Sadly missed by his family, brothers-in-law Dan Joe, Connie and Bernard, sisters-in-law Mary (Kelleher), Mary (Murray), Cora (Kelleher) and Breda (O’Keeffe), nephew Adam, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in St. John’s Church, Ballinagree, on this Saturday evening from 6pm-8pm. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Sunday, at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.

Family Fun Day in Millstreet GAA Hall – Sun. 14th Feb. 12 noon until 4pm
