John Twomey Of Laharn

2014 - John Twomey of LaharnI have heard through the grapevine that he is doing okay
John Twomey of Laharn for the Aubane Gaelic Football Club he used to play
When he was a younger man in his life’s prime
Before the Aubane Club fell victim to the passing of time

John Twomey the fellow who does laugh at life
I hear he has school going children and a wife

Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1253 from Millstreet.  Fondest greetings dear listeners and I wish you all the very best on this lovely calm cold Tuesday morning.

There is a real feeling of Spring in the Air, with cattle out in many fields grazing the early lush grass that grew in the mild weeks of January. Spring Lambs can be seen bouncing around their caring mothers, and even a few early daffodils are peeping out. All telling us that Spring is here and can Summer be far behind.

The annual church Gate collections in aid of our Day Care Centre will be held this weekend February 14/15 in Millstreet, Ballydaly, Cullen, Dromagh and Dernagree. Please support this wonderful cause well.

Our Day Care is a hive of activity for our elderly or anyone who needs care. Providing nursing chiropody, hairdressing, and beautiful meals which can be enjoyed in or taken home. They have a wonderful Meals on Wheels service.

For full information of their services, give them a ring at 029 70926.

Personally, I had experience of their great service in the not too distant past when recovering from an injury. I got a beautiful hot dinner every day, for a mere €5. Soup and Dessert €1.50 extra. Optional of course.
