Dia is mhuire diobh go leir a cairde and welcome to News Report 1235 from Millstreet.  Fondest greeting on this lovely calm Autumn Morning. A new local committee has been formed to raise money for Marymount Hospice. Their aim is to raise €5,000 by mid-October. Events to date have already realised almost €2,000, so they are well on their way. Tickets at €5 each will be sold door to door and so on. There is a host of prizes to be won. First prize a trailer of firewood which was salvaged from last winter’s storms. Second Prize €200 third €100. The Draw will be held at a Gala celebration, which will be held at the pub in Carriganima on Friday October 24th. Please give your best support to this great venture for such worthy cause. Prestigious American Visitors at Millstreet Museum

We were delighted to welcome twin brothers Jim (on left) and Michael Fenton from the USA to Millstreet Museum on Monday morning,15th Sept. 2014.  Also included is Mary Kelleher (Museum Staff) and Ann Hickey, first cousin of the twins.   We also recorded a brief interview for local television with Jim who is from the New York Fire Department and with Michael who is in the American Navy.  Click on the images to enlarge.  (S.R.)
We were delighted to welcome twin brothers Jim (on left) and Michael Fenton from the USA to Millstreet Museum on Monday morning, 15th Sept. 2014. Also included is Mary Kelleher (Museum Staff) and Ann Hickey, first cousin of the twins. We recorded a brief interview for local television with Jim who is from the New York Fire Department and with Michael who is in the American Navy.  They have been superbly uplifting with the royal welcome received and on meeting with their many relatives especially their wonderful Aunt, Mrs. Cronin from Coolinarne.  Click on the images to enlarge.   (S.R.)

Presentation of Tidy Town Certificates to International Volunteer Helpers

On Monday morning, 15th Sept. 2014 at the "Aroma" Restaurant in The Square, Millstreet richly deserved Certificates were presented by Chairman of Millstreet Tidy Towns , Gordon O'Keeffe to a number of dedicated International Volunteer Helpers after which all enjoyed delicious refreshments and a wonderfully harmonic brief singing session took place.
