It's been a few years since we've seen the truly wonderful sight of the Big Top in Millstreet. The splendidly colourful Circus Gerbola is presently located in the very picturesque setting of the Los Zarcos Soccer Pitch at Station Road, Millstreet until the final performance of the Circus on Tuesday, 29th April. “Round the Fireside” Recordings Focus on the Bealtaine Festival 2014…First of Two Recordings Now Being Broadcast on c103 Until 11.00pm

The enthusiastic group of people from Duhallow and beyond who recently participated in two "Round the Fireside" radio programmes with Jimmy Reidy on c103 where the focus was on the forthcoming Bealtaine Festival which is being coordinated by Louise Burke of IRD Duhallow and her dedicated team. The c103 programmes will be broadcast on Monday, 28th April 2014 and on Monday, 19th May at 9.50 pm. The recordings took place in Freemount's Heritage Centre. Click on the image to enlarge. (S.R.)

Large Funnel Cloud / Tornado Sweeps past Clara

From 5:10 to 5:25pm yesterday evening (Sunday April 27th 2014) , there was incessant thunder and lightening coming from the Ballydaly/Clara direction. It was really scary for many but out of the thunderstorm appeared a large funnel cloud, which wasn’t far from touching the ground and becoming a tornado. It was captured on camera by a few, and these are shown below.
